As expected, new gamplay footage from God Of War 3 was shown to the masses on Spike TV's Videogame Awards. The clip itself is incredibly brief and to be honest the graphics don't look as awesome as everyone said they would, but I'm sure these are just very early workings of the game. The graphics will be amped before the game comes out, that's for sure. Nothing much can be said about the footage itself except that some new weapons are shown and the levels themselves look pretty damn epic. Watch for yourselves.

I guess the rumors were true. Brett Ratner recently spoke to UGO and mentioned God Of War as one of his next projects. It remains unclear if he'll be directing or just producing, but either way this looks like pretty bad news for God Of War fans. Brett Ratner doesn't have what it takes to pull off a solid God Of War movie. I'm guessing the movie will now be a mediocre PG-13 stint with Vin Diesel or some other bald dude in it. I'm not sure why Sony would go along with this, but to me it doesn't make any sense. The videogame really had the potential to transcend into something phenomenal. I'm pretty sure Brett Ratner will do everything in the power to make sure it doesn't go anywhere far. *sigh*

New rumors have surfaced regarding the yet-to-be-confirmed release date of the third installment of the God Of War series. According to numerous sources including Wikipedia, God Of War 3 should hit stores come March 3 2009...at least that's the release date over in Europe. If the rumors are true, we now know that the guys at Sony are sticking to their trend of releasing God Of War games early in the year, normally within the first three months. Let's just wait and see if the date is confirmed.

These rumors surfaced several months ago and suddenly I've been receiving mail asking about the progress of Chains Of Olympus hopping aboard the PS2 platform. Could it really be? For one, developers ReadyAtDawn have stated that they're moving on with other projects and will not further develop anything related to the God Of War franchise. So maybe Sony is taking over completely? There is  definitely a possibility since games like Grand Theft Auto have done the same, but for the time being it looks like all focus is being directed towards the highly-anticipated God Of War 3. If Chains does make it to the PS2 platform then I'm pretty sure we'll see bonus features and extra levels added to the game.

There's a major possibility that we may see Kratos' long-lost brother in God Of War 3, given that he was hyped in an unlockable video in the first God Of War game. (Watch the video on your left).

Since he didn't make an appearance in God Of War II, there's a huge chance that we'll see him either face-off or aid his vengeful brother, the fallen God Of War. Since Kratos is in fact a character that derives from actual Greek mythos, it would only seem logical for the developers to follow the mythos when it comes to Kratos' brother's name. And that name would be Zelus. Strangely so, Zelus also means 'jealously' or 'zealousness'. Coincidental? Apparently in said unlockable video, Kratos' brother is seen plotting something against his older brother whom he thinks abandoned him as a child. It would only make sense for SCEA to go with this name. 

Rumors have made their way across the net that God Of War 3 will in fact have a special  Co-operative Mode in which players will be able to team up and battle the baddies. The question is, who will Kratos team up with? Not only is he a badass sonoffab*tch, it's clear that he doesn't like company. The man walks alone. So who could Sony possibly think of as an ally for the dual-blade wielding madman? His rumored brother maybe? An unlockable video for God Of War 1 clearly stated that Kratos had a brother who was not picked as a Spartan warrior due to his weaknesses. His brother could be out there seeking vengeance...or maybe Kratos really does have someone in the world that he could truly trust? Nothing has been confirmed yet, but if you ask me, I'd rather NOT have a Co-op Mode in the third God Of War installment. It'll probably ruin the game.

This is strictly a rumor so take it for what it's worth. Stan from Boston sent me an E-Mail yesterday saying that 'a very reliable scooper' inside the industry managed to get details regarding God Of War 3's release date. According to said scooper, the third installment is only due to hit shelves during Christmas-time 2009!? In my opinion, 'scooper' doesn't have the right facts and I doubt Sony would release a teaser a almost 18 months ahead of time. I'd say God Of War 3 is due out in March - June next year. But seriously, would they push the release date as far as Christmas?

Kratos battled Medusa in God Of War, faced her revenge-crazed sister Euryale in God Of War 2, but will he face yet another Gorgon in the third and possibly final installment of the game? According to Greek mythos, Medusa and Euryale had a third sister, Stheno! She, like her sisters, can also turn anyone who she gazes at into stone. So does this mean Kratos will have to slay yet another Gorgon to use her head as a weapon? What does he do with Euryale's head, then? This is purely speculation, but Stheno could very well be a boss villain in God Of War 3 if the creators decide to use her to avenge her sisters' deaths.  Personally, I've had enough of the Gorgons...plus the Gorgon stares never really come into much use anyway.

During a recent interview with the producers of '300' conducted by Collider.com, there was some very interesting news on a new movie the guys are working on called 'War Of Gods'. The media even went as far as asking if the movie was related to the rumored God Of War movie, which the producers tactfully denied. According to the press, War Of Gods will be shot in a similar fashion to '300' and tells the story of a great war between the Gods, humans, and Titans. Sound familiar? It's like God Of War minus Kratos, if you ask me. Anyhow, the movie sounds like it's going to be phenomenal, which makes me happy and sad all at the same time. Happy because I love a good movie. Sad because it would be awesome to see the guys at Warner make a God Of War movie with a massive budget like that. *Sigh*. War Of Gods will begin principal photography come January 2009.

It's finally here, folks! E3 closed with a bang when Sony revealed the teaser trailer for God Of War 3, and man oh man is it incredible to say the least. I think the crew behind the game made this teaser specifically to show off how good their visual effects and graphics capabilities are. The visuals are surreal and almost lifelike. The teaser itself shows us a glimpse of the impending chaos that will develop via the events of the third installment in the God Of War franchise. No date has been set, but the teaser is out which means that the crew are working hard to complete the game.

Huge news broke out today regarding the potential director for the God Of War movie, and the related name so happens to be Brett Ratner of Rush Hour fame and X-Men : The Last Stand 'un-fame'. According to a press conference done in conjunction with Ratner's new company (Brett Ratner Brands), Ratner will probably work on an adaptation for God Of War because his interests lie more in video game movies now. "He also mentioned that he might be working on a movie adaptation of the video game "God of War."  Personally, I doubt this news will settle well with us fans of the game, and my opinion is that Ratner will turn an epic into an epic disaster of....

A bunch of new wallpapers have been added to the Wallpapers section (obviously), and some of them look pretty f**kin' sweet, people. For some reason though, not all images of Kratos actually look like the man. Either way, most of the wallpapers themselves look really good and they're available in a variety of desktop resolutions as well as widescreen. It's not easy to spoof someone as bad ass as Kratos, but the guys over at X-Play have done it good! Here's the question; what happens to Kratos after all of Olympus has fallen? What then? Okay so maybe this was based after the first game and we all know where he goes from there, but the question works fine if asked after the third game as well. Take a look at the video and see Kratos, the fallen God Of War, fight enemies that are not even worth looking at. Hilarious, I tell you!
